Moraine Lake.

Each year the holy grail of travel guides ‘Lonely Planet’ release a list of ‘best in travel’ destinations to visit in the upcoming year. So, when the list for 2018 was released, it was no surprise to us at Condor Campers to see Chile claim the top spot as ‘Number one country to visit in 2018’. We have used lonely planet guide books all over the world, and can’t recommend them enough. In our opinion they’ve got it spot on this year naming our beautiful country as the place not to be missed in 2018!

‘World’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination’ winner

For years New Zealand has been well known on the traveller circuit as the home of adventure tourism but…. times are changing, There is now a new king of adventure in town!
For the previous two years Chile has been crowned ‘World’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination’ at the World Travel Awards. Step aside NZ, Chile is ready for all your adrenaline junkie needs. White water rafting, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, surfing, sand boarding, scuba diving, fly fishing, glacier trekking, climbing, horse riding, scaling volcanoes, you think of it and Chile has it.

As avid travellers ourselves and, whilst still good, we were a little disappointed with the commercialisation of New Zealand and the activities on offer. Things were overpriced for us and very crowded with people. This certainly isn’t the case in Chile. Activities are in abundance, they are affordable and, you can enjoy them surrounded by real, wild nature. People often head to Torres Del Paine for trekking and Pucón for volcanoes however, head off the main highway along the beaten tracks and you’ll be rewarded with unforgettable experiences and spectacular views that you thought only ever existed in photo shopped images. Life on the open road, real adventure at every turn, they are both here waiting for you and your very own Condor Camper in Chile.
